Animal Welfare Bodies
People which are authorized to conduct animal experiments are required to be associated with an animal welfare body on the facility in which the housing and/or experiments are conducted. If no animal welfare body exist at the facility it must be established.

European Commission about animal welfare bodies and national committees
The Commission established an Expert Working Group (EWG) to prepare this guidance on
Animal Welfare Bodies and National Committees to fulfil the requirements under Articles
26, 27 and 49 of Directive 2010/63/EU on the protection of animals used for scientific
purposes.
